Membership Information

Retention and Recognition

1. FCCLA Banquet

Beginning in the 24-25 school year, our chapter hosts a banquet at the end of the year highlighting the achievements each member has made and gives members an opportunity to hang out and have fun!

2. Member Incentives

Incentives ranged from receiving any extra baked goods, to opportunities to get out of class to assist with setup and serving at events.

3. Field Trips

FCCLA members would receive extra opportunities for field trips, like visiting the Family and Consumer Sciences department at Jax State!

Recruitment Activities

FCCLA Jenga- Each Jenga piece had an FCCLA question on it. When picking a piece you were to answer the questions, if you got the question right you tally up the point. At the end of the game when the tower has fallen you count all points to find the winner.

Dessert Quiz- Our advisor created an FCCLA quiz with each question having an ice-cream related ingredient. For example, question 1 was a bowl, question 2 a spoon, question 3 a scoop of ice cream, etc. For all the questions you got right, that's what you received to create your ice cream. If you got the question wrong, you would have to do without.

FCCLA Webquest- This assignment required students to travel all around the official FCCLA website for information. They would search for things like the motto, where the next NLC was being hosted, and what a STAR Event is. This is a great opportunity for potential members to learn more about the organization.

FCCLA Spoons- Played very similarly to a regular game of spoons, players would sit in a circle with spoons in the middle. Instead of playing cards, players would search for an FCCLA related question and the corresponding answer on slips of paper. Once a player got a correct answer to a question, all players must reach for a spoon. This continues until one player remains.
